Do you love the creamy and humble flavor of cottage cheese? This versatile dairy product is a staple ingredient in dips, pasta sauces, smoothies, pancakes, salads, and desserts. How about starting your day with a refreshing cottage cheese smoothie with the fruit flavoring of your choice? Well, here is my easy-peasy breakfast recipe for you.

This luscious, super-healthy blend is keto-friendly and is a natural way to add more protein to your diet. While the fruits add vitamins, the little tart flavor adds tanginess without curd. And, you can make this up to 2 days in advance in case you have hurried mornings. It takes only 10 minutes to whip up a customized healthy drink for you.

Ingredients for cottage cheese smoothie

  • Cottage cheese                                                     ½ cup
  • Soya milk (flavored or unflavored)            ½ cup
  • Honey                                                                         ½ to 1 tablespoon (as per your taste)
  • Frozen mixed fruits                                            1 ½ cup
  • Vanilla bean powder                                          optional

Equipment needed

A blender is the main equipment needed to make smoothies.

Instructions

Blend all the ingredients in a blender. However, I have mentioned the quantities; you can adjust the sweetness, replacing honey with agave, maple syrup, or stevia, or keep it sugar-free.

  • If you wish to give tropical flavor to your smoothie, I recommend using a bowl of tropical fruits or just frozen pineapple.
  • If you don’t have soya milk, regular milk will do.
  • Similarly, low-sodium store-bought cottage cheese may work, but unsalted homemade cottage cheese is the best for the smoothie.

Keeping cottage cheese health benefits in mind, the above recipe would make one of the healthiest choices for breakfast. The smoothie comes out thicker and creamier than others, using ice to blend. You can also try getting fancy by adding chia seeds, nuts, fruit chunks, or flax seeds. Complement your breakfast with pancakes or cottage cheese bread toast with eggs.
